NJFMBA Endorses 2020 Congressional Candidates

The New Jersey State NJ FMBA announced their unanimous endorsements of U.S. Senator Cory Booker as well as 12 candidates seeking to represent New Jersey in the U.S. House of Representatives. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

The NJFMBA represents more than 5,000 career firefighters, EMTs, and dispatchers across New Jersey.

The endorsements came at the over union’s annual convention which took place in Atlantic City. All health protocols related to COVID-19, including holding the event outside, wearing masks as necessary, frequent temperature checks for all attendees, and providing hand sanitizers were strictly adhered to.

Candidates endorsed for U.S. House of Representatives are:

District 3:    Andy Kim*

District 4:    Chris Smith*

District 5:    Josh Gottheimer*

District 6:    Frank Pallone*

District 7:    Tom Kean, Jr.

District 8:    Albio Sires*

Disitrict 9:    Bill Pascrell*

District 10:    Donald Payne, Jr.*

District 11:    Mikie Sherrill*

District 12:    Bonnie Watson Coleman*

“Each of these endorsed candidates have shown that when times are tough they are willing to stand shoulder to shoulder with New Jersey’s career firefighters, EMTs, and dispatchers,” Eddie Donnelly, President of the NJFMBA said. “The onslaught of COVID-19 has brought unprecedented challenges to first responders, and while I am hopeful that we are on a road to recovery there is no question that the road is a bumpy one. It’s ciritical that we know that New Jersey’s representatives in Washington, D.C. are unwavering in their support for our efforts to keep our communities safe and healthy.

The NJFMBA also unanimously endorsed Anthony Fanucci, seeking reelection as mayor of Vineland.
