Onyema Secures Chairmanship of West Ward Democratic Committee
Attorney and community activist Chigozie Onyema this evening defeated Councilman Dupre “Doitall” Kelly for the chairmanship of the West Ward Democratic Committee.
It was a rematch of sorts for the pair of Newark pols who squared off in 2022 for a vacant council seat. Backed by Mayor Ras Baraka, Kelly won that contest, but Onyema proved his grassroots organizing ability tonight by beating his nemesis.

I pray this new person does more to better the community as far as safety, and aiding in assistant to the residents and show their face more and not only for votes. We need more activities for our youths and not promoting rappers music . We need Unity in the streets and more brotherly love and bring back Jesus to the streets.
