Passaic County Young Democrats Elect New Executive Board for 2020

Passaic County, NJ, January 22, 2020 – The Passaic County Young Democrats (PCYD), a democratic organization that engages young democrats under the age of 35 throughout Passaic County, is proud and excited to announce their new executive board for 2020.

“I am thankful to our members for electing me to continue to lead PCYD in 2020 as its President,” said PCYD President Christian Callegari. “Thanks to Chairman Currie’s continued support, 2019 was an excellent year for our organization. With our newly elected E-Board, we hope to continue our momentum and growth in 2020.”

The PCYD’s mission is to encourage discussion on important issues confronting young adults in Passaic County, New Jersey, and the nation. They seek to inspire young adults with the concept of public and community service, while providing training and workshops to educate on the ideas and beliefs of the Democratic Party in an open and public manner. The PCYD provide a platform for Young Adults to access invaluable networking opportunities and meaningful career connections which will increase professional experience in various areas of business and levels of government.

“I am proud of the contributions being made by our county’s young Democrats, and I want to congratulate the organization’s new executive board for 2020,” said State & Passaic County Democratic Chairman John Currie. “I look forward to continuing our work together on issues important to young adults throughout Passaic County. Thank you for the work you do to inspire and motivate our next generation of Democrats.”

The new year brings a set of new challenges – many that stem from the imminent 2020 presidential election – in which the PCYD intend on leveraging to increase and invigorate its growing roster of young democrats and to establish meaningful volunteer-based working relationships with Passaic County’s elected officials.

“Last year Christian and I really revamped the organization, we have about 40 active members of all different backgrounds, we have some students who are in High School, many currently in college, and a bulk of us who are young professionals either working in, or just interested in, politics,” said PCYD Vice President Sam Liebman. “2019 was an excellent foundation for us and in 2020, we are hoping to accomplish some great things. The goal of PCYD is not only to be an asset to our county Democratic organization, but to also give a voice to and empower the younger generation. Our main objective in 2020 is to bolster the young voice in Passaic County, focusing on voter registration, vote by mail, and volunteer engagement. With a presidential election ahead of us, we want to capture excitement, and turn it into activism.”
