Incumbent Councilman Al Abdelaziz won the 6th Ward special election tonight, with unofficial results giving him 2592 votes to challenger Jeyss Abreu’s 618. Delivering a Stack-like margin of victory, it was an 82% victory for the Councilman, the youngest in the city’s history and its first Palestinian-American to hold a seat.
Abdelaziz was appointed to the open seat vacated by Mayor Sayegh.
