Paterson’s Third Ward Drama Continues, Following BOE Weigh-in

Mendez and McKoy.

The Passaic County Board of Elections determined – and let the parties know this week – that it uncovered some votes in last year’s Ward 3 Paterson race that don’t meet muster.

The consequence?

Paterson’s two most enduring gladiators may be headed back to another clanking contest, in yet another special election.

The Board under discovery shared its findings of the last election that more than 20 provisional ballot voters in the Third Ward contest were not registered Third Ward votes.

Since Alex Mendez defeated Bill McKoy by 13 votes and subsequently assumed the oath of office to sit in the council seat, the displaced McKoy and company have reason to cry foul on the election.

So they may be headed for round three.

More details to come.
