Payne Condemns Trump’s Ongoing Disregard for the Democratic Process
U.S. Rep. Donald Payne, Jr. (D-10) reacted to President Donald J. Trump’s phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger in which Trump pressures the official to “find” the votes he would need to reverse the election outcome in the state.
The bullying call has sparked significant debate within the legal community about the implications of a president trying to steal an election by prodding an official to change what for Trump was an unfavorable outcome.
“We won the state,” Trump said on the phone call to Raffensberger, in reference to the state he lost in the Nov. 3rd presidential election. “Flipping the state is a testament to our country. You know, it’s a testament that they can admit to a mistake or whatever you want to call it. A lot of people think it wasn’t a mistake.”
Payne didn’t see the President’s behavior as a break from his normal routine of abuse.
“The phone call is just another example of President Trump’s disregard for the American democratic process,” said the Newark-based congressman.
InsiderNJ asked if him Trump should resign.
“There is no need for him to resign because the people have spoken and it will be President Biden on January 20th,” said Payne.
Business Insider has more context here:
“In an hour-long phone recording released by The Washington Post, President Donald Trump on January 2 repeatedly pressured Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to ‘find’ additional votes to secure a win in the state’s presidential contest. In the November general election, President-elect Joe Biden won Georgia by nearly 13,000 votes out of roughly 5 million votes cast.”

Meanwhile, Chris Christie and Karl Rove are co-chairs of a national fund raising
group to elect the two Republican Senators.
Previously, I had little or no respect for Christie.
NOW, IT IS IN THE NEGATIVE NUMBERS,!!!
