Long Branch Mayor John Pallone nominates Luanne Peterpaul for Muni Court Judge

Long Branch, Monmouth County – Mayor John Pallone has nominated LGBT rights stalwart Luanne Peterpaul to be Long Branch’s next municipal court judge.

“The resolution appointing Luanne will be heard by (Long Branch) City Council on Wednesday,” a Monmouth County potentate told InsiderNJ. ” So it’ll be official on Wednesday when they vote on the resolution.

The City Council is expected to approve the nomination.

A graduate of the Seaton Hall University School of Law, Luanne was Garden State Equality’s long serving PAC director. Her fingerprints are on over 200 pro-LGBT laws passed in New Jersey in recent years.

Senator Vin Gopal represents Long Branch, population 32,000, in the New Jersey Legislature.

“This is a historic appointment by the Mayor and Council,” Senator Gopal told InsiderNJ. “Luanne is an extraordinary individual who will represent Long Branch well.”

Luanne  was #14 on InsiderNJ’s OUT 100 Power List, a recent tribute to politically influential LGBTs in New Jersey politics. Luanne and her partner, filmmaker Robin Kampf, made InsiderNJ’s list of power couples this years as well.
