Peterson Named to Prisoner Reentry Commission
Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick (R-21) announced the selection of Assemblyman Erik Peterson (R-23) to serve on the Prisoner Reentry Commission, which advises the Department of Corrections on problems facing prisoners re-entering society.
“Despite New Jersey’s declining prison populations, nearly 66 percent of prisoners released reoffend, creating a cycle where a served sentence can easily turn into a life sentence,” said Peterson. “I look forward to serving on this panel to help develop a common sense approach to release and re-entry plans that acclimate prisoners back into society as law abiding, productive individuals.”
