Pic of the Week: Schaer in Gear at Citizens Bank Park

Assemblyman Gary Schaer

Assemblyman Gary Schaer (D-36) of Passaic threw out the first pitch at the Phillies game last night at Citizens Bank Park yesterday on the occasion of Jewish Heritage night.

Attendees included Passaic Mayor Hector Lora, state Senator Vin Gopal (D-11), Assemblyman John Burzichelli (D-3), Justin Braz and Stephanie Lagos from the governor’s office and current and former Schaer staffers.

The Phillies would go on to beat the Pirates by a score of 6-5.

Originally from Pennsauken, Schaer was in the news last week when local NAACP President Jeffrey Dye lost his job in the state Department of Labor after posting offensive anti-Semitic social media comments, some of them directed at Schaer.
