In Plainfield, Low Voter Turnout Tells the Story of the Day

Mapp

PLAINFIELD – Turnout was anemic everywhere on Tuesday, including Plainfield, where InsiderNJ found Mayor Adrian Mapp campaigning in the rain.

At a little afterten in the morning, turnout at the local polls was 1,500, or 10% of registered Democrats.

Mapp was in a good mood and expected to win tonight.

He’s running on the line with the Democratic Party establishment, including Assemblyman Jerry Green (D-22) and Democratic front-runner Phil Murphy.

“I campaigned with Phil Murphy,” said Mapp. “We’ve had a couple of encounters and this past Friday we had a great rally on the steps of city hall. I believe Ambassador Murphy knows the issues in this state and I firmly believe he will do an excellent job as the next governor of the state of New Jersey.”
