Post Fulop World, Field Lands in the Governor’s Office

Robert Field, the talented young operative who grew into his own in Fulop World, will leave Jersey City in the New Year to take a new position in the Governor’s Office as an Aide to Governor Phil Murphy.

Field started in New Jersey politics with the Somerset Dems in 2011 assisting Somerset Democratic Committee Chair Peg Schaffer and ED Joe Kostecki on numerous races. His first professional race was with Mike Soliman and Adam Steinberger working Field in Middlesex and Mercer Counties in 2012 for the Coordinated with Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ).  He specifically worked the Rush Holt part of Middlesex and Mercer that year. He also worked in LD 16 as Field Director in 2013 for Marie Corfield and worked in both the Primary and General for U.S. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman in 2014, working Field and Operations as well.

In January 2015, he went to work for Mayor Fulop. Field was the mayor’s political arm in Somerset and Mercer County and also served as his speechwriter. He also was a liaison for the city council. In 2017, he assisted with the field effort for Fulop’s resounding reelection, and assisted with the Pete Buttigieg for DNC race and various other candidates across the state.
