314 ACTION ENDORSES DR. HERB CONAWAY FOR CONGRESS IN NEW JERSEY’s 3RD CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT 

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA — Today, 314 Action, the premier pro-science political organization, endorsed Herb Conaway for election to New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District.

As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a doctor and a State Assembly member for more than 25 years, he consistently puts his community and the people of New Jersey first,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, president of 314 Action. “Herb is a tireless champion of expanding reproductive freedom, making our healthcare system more equitable and protecting our climate. 314 Action is proud to endorse Herb and we know that he will bring his pro-science, results oriented approach to Congress to deliver for the people of New Jersey’s 3rd District.”

About Dr. Herb Conaway:

Dr. Herb Conaway is a lifelong resident of Burlington County. He received an undergraduate degree from Princeton University, a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and a law degree from Rutgers Law School before joining the U.S. Air Force and serving as a Captain in the Medical Corps for four years. Dr. Conaway has served in the New Jersey State Assembly for more than twenty five years. As the Chairman of the Health Committee, he played a leading role in passing some of the state’s most significant health laws, including reproductive healthcare protections. Dr. Conaway has advocated for affordable healthcare, lower prescription drug costs, protecting our environment and drinking water and expanded support for service members, their families and veterans. If elected, Dr. Conaway would be the first ever Black doctor with voting power to serve in Congress.

Voters across the country, particularly in swing districts, are committed to building a pro-science future. The increasing attacks against reproductive freedom and protecting our environment have made it clear that we need more STEM leaders at the federal, state, and local level. 314 has helped elect 4 U.S. Senators, 13 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, 9 candidates for statewide down-ballot offices and more than 300 candidates at the state and municipal level. In 2022, 70% of our candidates won their races, including 71 non-incumbents. Our candidates were critical to helping Democrats flip the Michigan, Minnesota and Pennsylvania State Houses. Three quarters of our candidates identify as women, people of color or members of the LGBTQ+ community.
