32BJ SEIU Endorses Kim for US Senate, Conaway for NJ Congressional District 3, Akhter for Paterson Ward 3

NEWARK, NJ — 32BJ SEIU, the largest property services union in the country, with 15,000 members in New Jersey, announced today its endorsement of Congressman Andrew Kim for U.S. Senate, Assemblyman Herb Conaway Jr. for New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District, and Assad Akhter for Paterson’s Ward 3. In making the endorsement for US Senate, 32BJ SEIU cited Congressman Kim’s strong progressive record in Congress as well as his pro-labor credentials. Additionally, the union noted Assad Akhter’s 20 years of governmental experience as well as Assemblyman Conaway’s dedication to expanding access to healthcare during his legislative career. These endorsements come after reviewing written questionnaires and conducting member-led candidate interviews.

“Whether as elected officials or advocates, each of these candidates have proven their commitment to defending and advancing the rights of workers across the state,” said 32BJ SEIU Executive Vice President Kevin Brown. “We are confident that all three candidates will further build worker power at the local and state level. 32BJ is proud to endorse these champions of working New Jerseyans”

The Democratic primary elections will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
