ABC-NJ Promotes Derek DeLuca to Director of Government Affairs 

LAUREL – The Associated Builders and Contractors New Jersey Chapter today announced Derek DeLuca was promoted Director of Government Affairs, overseeing all state and federal legislative and regulatory issues for its membership.

“Derek has done a tremendous job representing our members at the Statehouse these past several years, and he’s a perfect fit to assume the expanded role of Director of Government Affairs,” said Samantha DeAlmeida Roman, President & CEO of Associated Builders and Contractors New Jersey.  “As our membership grows and we continue to be a strong voice for labor issues in New Jersey, Derek will play an important role in the future of our organization and serve on the frontlines in advocating for our member companies.”

Derek DeLuca has been with the Associated Builders and Contractors of New Jersey since July 2021, serving as the organization’s’ Deputy Director of Government Affairs. Prior to joining ABCNJ, DeLuca served as the Legislative Director to former Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso (Republican – Monmouth) for nearly two years. Prior to that, he was a policy analyst with the Assembly Republican Office.

“I’m excited to continue my work with ABC New Jersey in an expanded role as Director of Government Affairs,” said DeLuca.  “There are no shortage of issues facing the construction industry, and I’m privileged to work with a dynamic team that is passionate about advocating for the best interests of merit shop firms and contractors.’

DeLuca is a graduate of Monmouth University, earning a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.

In addition to his work at ABC New Jersey, DeLuca serves as a Fire Commissioner in Marlboro Township and a firefighter and the President of the Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company. He also serves on the Monmouth County ACTS Advisory Council.
