ACLU-NJ and Partners to Testify in Support of Bill to Ban New ICE Detention Contracts in NJ

The ACLU-NJ and partners in advocacy from the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice plan to testify Thursday, March 11, at 1:15 p.m. before the Senate Law and Public Safety Committee to pass S3361, a bill to prevent state and local entities and private corrections facilities from entering into contracts with federal immigration authorities, namely U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, for the purpose of detaining immigrants. If passed, it would ban any new contracts, along with the renewal or expansion of existing contracts.

Hearing on a bill to prevent contracts to jail immigrants detained in state, local, and private facilities in New Jersey
