Acting Governor Oliver Directs U.S. and New Jersey Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Assemblyman Peter Barnes, Jr.
TRENTON – Acting Governor Sheila Oliver today has ordered that the U.S. and New Jersey flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities in honor of Assemblyman Peter Barnes, Jr. on Friday, September 14, 2018. 
“Peter Barnes was an extraordinary man who dedicated his life to public service,” said Acting Governor Sheila Oliver. “I had the honor of serving alongside Assemblyman Barnes. He was my friend. More importantly, he was a man of great integrity who fought tirelessly for his constituents and defended equal rights and justice for all. I send my deepest condolences to the Barnes family, his loved ones, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.”
