TRENTON, NJ – Americans for Prosperity-New Jersey (AFP-NJ) today announced a direct mail effort to thank the State Legislature’s “Taxpayer Heroes,” the twenty state lawmakers who earned an “A” or above on the grassroots organization’s 2017 Taxpayer Midterm Scorecard, a detailed report on how state lawmakers voted on key legislation such as the gas tax hike, corporate welfare, pension funding, and occupational licensure reform. The mail pieces ask residents to thank their lawmaker and call on them to continue fighting for lower taxes in the lame duck session.
“Our state has the worst business tax climate in the region, so it’s incredible that most of our lawmakers still believe more spending, more regulations, and higher taxes is the path forward,” said AFP-NJ State Director Erica Jedynak. “Fortunately, we have heroes in the State Legislature willing to buck the status quo, and their efforts shouldn’t go unnoticed. As the voice of the taxpayer, Americans for Prosperity is proud to let citizens know that there are some legislators that stand up for them and work to solve New Jersey’s economic crisis. We urge them to continue fighting for the taxpayer throughout the lame duck session.”
