AFPF-NJ Releases “No Cookie Cutter Solutions” Mail on Pension Crisis

TRENTON, NJ – Americans for Prosperity Foundation-New Jersey released two more waves of direct mail to supplement its Safeguard New Jersey’s Future Project, the organization’s six-figure effort to educate New Jersey residents on the state’s pension crisis. The mail pieces highlight possible solutions to fix the state’s worst-in-the-nation pension system, which costs every resident at least $26,000. Safeguard New Jersey’s Future, which is AFP Foundation’s priority effort this year, includes previous rounds of mail, a series of digital ads, an informational e-book, and grassroots events.

The mail takes a light-hearted approach to suggesting that there are no cookie-cutter solutions to fix the state’s pension crisis.

“New Jersey’s pension crisis sucks all the air out of the room in Trenton. It affects not just retirees, but every taxpayer in New Jersey. State funding for public schools, public safety, and other essential services is at risk because past governors have ignored mounting liabilities,” said AFPF-NJ State Director Erica Jedynak. “Moreover, modern, not archaic benefits, will attract the right talent to public service. Our direct mail campaign is part of the ‘Safeguard New Jersey’s Future’ umbrella to educate residents about the crisis, and propose meaningful solutions to these big problems.”
