Director of Employee Resources Retires After 34-Year Career with the County

Morris County celebrates and thanks Allison Stapleton for 34 years of service to Morris County, as the Board of County Commissioners and administrative staff bid farewell to the retiring Director of Employee Resources whose last day is Wednesday, November 1.

“Thirty-four years is a long time. It’s a testament to your integrity and professionalism, because that’s what we’ve seen in you always. I feel sorry for your family because you’re a master negotiator. Having to deal with all the unions, you were always in a negotiation. And you always delivered for the taxpayers and for the County. Your heart was in the right spot, and you did a great job,” said Commissioner Doug Cabana during last week’s work session meeting.

The Commissioners and administrative staff presented Stapleton with an official resolution of honor denoting her achievements, as well as an etching of the Morris County Courthouse, a traditional gift given to retiring, long-time employees. The etching bears a placard that simply reads: “Thank You, Allison Stapleton For 34 Years of Distinguished Service To the People of Morris County.”

“People say that Morris County is one of the most professionally run counties, and much of that can be attributed to Allison.  I am grateful for her many years of contribution and wish her joy in retirement,” said County Administrator Deena Leary.

Ms. Stapleton was hired by the County of Morris as an Assistant Personnel Technician on August 21, 1989 and worked her way up to Labor Relations Manager in 2004. In 2015, she was promoted Director of Employee Resources, a position that entails supervising a department with four divisions consisting of Labor Relations, Medical Services, Personnel and Risk Management.

“I just want to say thank you to everybody. I’ve been blessed to work here. I’ve had the privilege of working with so many great people — the coworkers keep you here. It’s a county that is well run and very proud. Thank you very much,” said Stapleton.

Morris County extends its best wishes to Allison Stapleton for many happy years of retirement with her husband, daughter and granddaughter. Thank you, Allison, for your many years of service and congratulations on all that you have accomplished!

In light of Stapleton’s retirement, Jill Binkoski has been promoted to Director of Employee Resources. Ms. Binkoski is currently Director of the Personnel Division and has over 20 years of committed service to the County.
