American Bridge 21st Century Statement on the New Jersey Governor’s Race

Following Jack Ciattarelli’s victory in the New Jersey GOP’s gubernatorial primary, American Bridge 21st Century President Jessica Floyd released the following statement:

“Over the last four years, Governor Phil Murphy has been a champion for New Jersey’s workers and middle class. He’s worked to build a stronger, fairer economy by raising the minimum wage, expanding paid family leave, and enacting one of the nation’s strongest equal pay laws. That leadership has helped put New Jersey on the road to recovery after the public health and economic crises brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Governor Murphy’s positive, unifying vision could not stand in starker contrast to the divisive, dangerous agenda being pushed by his opponent, Jack Ciattarelli. If elected governor, Ciattarelli would oppose raising the minimum wage, would roll back the reproductive rights of New Jersey women, and would stand in the way of President Biden’s pandemic relief efforts that have been a lifeline for small businesses and working families. But you don’t have to take it from us: even Ciattarelli’s fellow Republicans have called him a racist liar who cannot be trusted as New Jersey’s next governor.”
