Brigantine, NJ – The American Federation of Teachers has endorsed Amy Kennedy for Congress in New Jersey’s second district.
“As the daughter of educators, a former public school teacher myself, and a product of South Jersey public schools, I am honored to have earned the support of my fellow educators and advocates,” said Amy Kennedy. “In Congress, I will be a champion for our students, educators, support professionals, and working families.”
The American Federation of Teachers is a union of professionals that champions fairness; democracy; economic opportunity; and high-quality public education, healthcare and public services for our students, their families and our communities.
“We are proud to endorse Amy Kennedy for Congress in New Jersey’s second district. As the daughter of educators, a former public school teacher, a mental health advocate and the mother of five, Amy understands the struggles that AFT members and all the people of South Jersey are facing. Amy is committed to fighting for public schools and the teachers, students, education support professionals and working families that rely on them,” said Donna Chiera, President of AFT New Jersey. “I also know that Amy will help keep the promises made to educators and make sure that they can count on the retirement benefits they earned, including their pension and social security. We need a representative in Congress who will always put working families first.”
