AMOROSO AND WOOLLEY DISCOURAGED BY MURPHY BUDGET THAT HURTS WORKING AND MIDDLE-CLASS FAMILIES

Ocean Township, NJ – Legislative District 11 General Assembly candidates Mike Amoroso and Matt Woolley released the following statement following Governor Murphy’s signing of the Fiscal Year 2020 budget:

“We are extremely disappointed to see Governor Murphy sign a budget supported by Assemblywoman Downey and Assemblyman Houghtaling that increased spending $1.3 billion dollars over last year. Since Governor Murphy took office two years ago, Democrats have hiked spending by $4 billion and refused to adopt policies that lower expenses for struggling New Jerseyans. This year, they reduced school funding increases and the payment to the pension system, and prioritized legal aid to non-citizens – all counter to the interests of working and middle-class families. We need representation that doesn’t see residents as a funding source, but as people who deserve to enjoy the lives they are working so hard to build.”

Mike Amoroso of Freehold Township and Matt Woolley of Ocean Township pledge to fight for reduced spending and direct financial relief for all New Jerseyans.
