Amy Kennedy Announces Plan for South Jersey’s Children and Families

Brigantine, NJ — Amy Kennedy, candidate for New Jersey’s Second Congressional District, today announced her plan to support South Jersey’s children and families. Amy has been endorsed by educators across the state of New Jersey, including the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), the state’s largest public employees’ union.

In the recently released Agenda for Children & Families, Amy outlined her strategy to fight for investments in public education and mental health, universal health care, an end to child poverty, and thwarting acts of gun violence.

“I was born in Atlantic County and have lived here my entire life,” said Amy Kennedy. “I understand how our community is affected by issues like access to healthcare, childcare, and good jobs and schools. I am running for Congress so I can fight for families in this district. I want to make sure that our community remains a safe and healthy one where our children can succeed and thrive.”

Kennedy continued, “My campaign is built around the issues that matter to working families: investing in public education, achieving universal health care, ending child poverty, investing in mental health, and keeping our communities safe. I will always be a voice for South Jersey’s children and families in Congress.”

“Amy’s robust Agenda for Children & Families plan will invest in every child, and ensure that our students are reaching their full potential,” said Kim O’Brien, a teacher from Somers Point. “As a former teacher and longtime mental health advocate, Amy has always remained dedicated to fighting for South Jersey’s children and families.”

“Amy believes no child should live in poverty, and this plan is a roadmap to making that dream a reality. In Congress, Amy will not rest until every family in South Jersey, no matter their zip code or color of their skin, has access to healthcare, childcare, and a quality education. Amy understands what all teachers understand — the future begins with our children.”
