Amy Kennedy Hosts Rep. Joe Kennedy III for discussion about COVID-19 and Mental Health as Part of “Connecting South Jersey Community” Facebook Live Series
Brigantine, NJ – Earlier tonight, Amy Kennedy hosted Congressman Joe Kennedy III on her ongoing Connecting South Jersey Community virtual Facebook live series. Amy and Congressman Kennedy gave viewers updates on COVID-19 and discussed the importance of mental health during the pandemic.
Amy Kennedy said, “Before the coronavirus pandemic, the US was facing a mental health crisis of great proportions. Now we’re seeing that this crisis is growing, with a rising rate of suicides and substance use, not only in New Jersey, but across the country. I’m honored to be joined by my cousin Joe, who is working hard to push forward legislation that addresses the overwhelming need for mental health services and care. As a candidate in South Jersey, I’m committed to providing the mental health and substance use services our community needs.”
“This global pandemic has exacerbated the need for mental health care. During these unprecedented times we must do everything possible to address the challenges we’re facing as a nation and the inequities that prevent underserved communities from accessing those resources,” said Congressman Joe Kennedy III. “I’m proud to have been part of this conversation to not only spread awareness, but to drive forward hope and change.”
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Amy Kennedy’s Connecting South Jersey Community series has worked to provide updates and resources to South Jersey. You can view the series here.
