Andy Kim Announces Support of Working Families for 2020 Reelection

MARLTON, NJ – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) announced the support of the first wave of labor unions in Burlington and Ocean Counties to endorse his reelection, demonstrating the strong backing of New Jersey’s working families.

“I’m honored to have the support of these great organizations and their members,” said Kim. “Labor unions have been fighting to give voice to people and hell to the powerful for well over a century. I’ve been proud to work alongside them in Congress to make sure our neighbors can get a good day’s pay for a hard day’s work and that they have a true voice in the future of our economy. I’ll continue to fight with them and for them, and against Washington corporate interests that seek to buy this seat back from us.”

The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers of New Jersey, The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW), announced their formal endorsement of Kim, demonstrating that he’s fought for the priorities of working people in Congress.

“Today, as we did two years ago, the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers of New Jersey endorses Andy Kim for reelection to the United States Congress,” said Rich Tolson, Director of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers of New Jersey. “Congressman Kim promised to stand up for issues that are important to our membership and their families and he has done that. From prevailing wage enforcement, worker safety protections through OSHA, pension protection and infrastructure and school construction, Congressman Kim is committed to standing with the American worker. We are proud to support the reelection of Andy Kim to Congress.”

In addition to formal endorsements, Kim has the support of the American Postal Workers Union, the National Treasury Employees Union, the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, and the Air Line Pilots Association, among others.

“IFPTE was proud to back Congressman Kim when he sought this seat in 2018, and we are proud to do so once again,” said IFPTE President Paul Shearon. “In just his first term in office, Representative Kim has established himself as a staunch supporter of working families and is an outspoken advocate for robust collective bargaining rights for workers in all sectors of our economy. IFPTE is proud to support him.”

In addition to receiving key endorsements from New Jersey’s working families, Andy Kim has also been listed as part of the DCCC’s Frontline program and has been endorsed by End Citizens United PAC, VoteVets, League of Conservation Voters, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and Foreign Policy for America, among other organizations.

Furthermore, Kim announced that he’s raised $575k in the third quarter of 2019. Kim has raised a total of more than $1.8 million in the 2020 election cycle.
