Andy Kim Rejects National Abortion Ban Legislation, Criticizes Bob Healey’s Extreme Position

MARLTON, N.J. — Today, Andy Kim released the following statement after Republican Senator Lindsey Graham introduced a bill that would ban abortion on a national level.

“A nationwide ban on abortion would override the protections for women here in New Jersey and endanger the lives of so many women across this country,” said Andy Kim. “This extreme measure would fundamentally degrade the equality of women across our nation. Sadly, this is part of the Washington Republican’s plan; a radical plan that my opponent Bob Healey is trying to make a reality. We know where Bob Healey stands on this issue, he said the Supreme Court made the right call overturning Roe v. Wade. He also said that it was unfortunate that New Jersey lawmakers had codified the right of reproductive choice in the State Constitution and that, if elected, he would ‘use the bully pulpit’ to speak out against a woman’s right to choose.

“Senator Graham said this national ban would be brought to a vote if Republicans like Bob Healey win control over Congress. We cannot allow this extremism to take over.”
