Anti-Corruption Rally Held At Clinton/Menendez Dinner

Jersey City, October 16th – Joshua Sotomayor Einstein held and led the Anti-Corruption Rally protesting the visit of Hillary Clinton and Robert Menendez to Jersey City on Monday October 15th. The rally took place outside the $5,400 a plate Clinton fundraiser for the struggling Menendez Senate campaign and was attended by New Jerseyans of all political stripes.

“When one considers that Clinton is infamous for corrupting and hijacking the Democratic primary and breaking any and all rules in her crusade for the nomination, it makes perfect sense that Menendez, with his record of breaking the law and engaging in rampant corruption would feel it appropriate to bring her in” said Einstein. He continued, “Clinton and Menendez have a long history of back room deals and dishonesty, the people gathered at the rally represent the hundreds of thousands of New Jerseyans who want status quo politicians held accountable for their actions.”

A lifelong West New York resident, Javier Colon said “as someone of Honduran extraction, a proud Hispanic, and a proud American, I find it galling that Menendez claims to ‘remember his roots’ while his entire political history is of him leveraging his political clout for personal gain.” On Menendez bringing in Clinton, Colon stated that she “did nothing while her husband sent heavily armed federal agents to kidnap Elian Gonzalez back to Casto’s Cuba, and is so personally amoral that after stealing the Democratic Primary from Bernie Sanders she has the nerve to fan the flames of civil discord.”

Mathew Garafalo, Jersey City resident, and one of the co-chairs of the Hudson County Young Republicans stated that “Menendez is a relic of the past, a symbol of everything that is wrong with Washington.” He continued, “Clinton’s presence in Hudson County only reinforces this idea. Menendez does not care about doing what is right; Menendez only cares about his own political power.”

Einstein, the NJ GOP State Committeeman from Hudson County, first called for and began organizing the rally on October 10th to give a voice to people of all political affiliations who want to take a stand against political corruption. Einstein organized an earlier protest last month against government corruption when Menendez, the only sitting Senator to be unanimously admonished for bribery, fraud, and corruption, by the bi-partisan Senate Ethics Committee, was chosen to be the guest of honor at the Hudson County Democratic Organization Gala.
