ARATI KREIBICH RELIEVED AT CANCELLATION OF BERGEN DEMS CONVENTION

Glen Rock, NJ – Democratic candidate for Congress in NJ-5 Arati Kreibich released the following statement in response to the cancellation of today’s Bergen County Democratic Convention:

“I am relieved to hear that following our campaign’s statement on the public health dangers of an in-person convention, today’s Bergen County Democratic Convention has been cancelled. Our campaign has been informed that county committee members will have the opportunity to vote remotely, with further details to be announced soon. I trust that the Democratic Committee of Bergen County (DCBC) will ensure that the voting process is transparent and announced well in advance while meeting high standards for security, anonymity, and accessibility.

“I am glad that we are all aligned in prioritizing the health and safety of our residents, and I look forward to earning the support of committee members in the weeks to come. My campaign will be encouraging staff to work from home and cancelling all events larger than 10 people for the foreseeable future; it’s the right thing to do, and I hope Rep. Gottheimer will do the same.”
