The Arc of Warren County Self-Advocates’ Fundraiser Scheduled for September 27, 2019
Purchases Made at the Phillipsburg Panera Will Help to Benefit The Arc of Warren County’s Self-Advocates
Washington, N.J., September 19, 2019 – Make a difference to the members of The Arc of Warren County Self-Advocacy Group Go Getters by participating in a fundraiser that helps support the group. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on September 27, the Phillipsburg Panera, which is located at 1196 US Highway 22, will donate 20% of food and beverage purchases to the Self-Advocacy Group, Go Getters, which consist of individuals who utilize the services of The Arc of Warren County.
The NJ Self Advocacy Project was established in 1983 and The Arc of Warren County teamed up with their advocacy efforts shortly after. These initiatives enable self-advocates the opportunity to participate in the annual New Jersey Statewide Self-Advocacy Network Conference, which focuses on various topics that promote independence, such as financial planning and relationship building. The Self Advocates meet once a month and engage in various activities that promotes effective communication and confidence. Proceeds from this fundraiser will support future Go Getter initiatives.
“The Self Advocates are excited at this opportunity to engage the community in this fundraiser,” says Carinne Buzzuto, Self-Advocacy Advisor and Training Coordinator at The Arc of Warren County. “Funds that are raised will make a big difference in generating additional opportunities and resources for our members.”
In order to participate in this fundraiser, one must present a fundraiser flier when purchases are made on September 27. Fliers are available by e-mailing alalevee@arcwarren.org
