Assembly Candidate Jeffrey Brown Calls for Elected Officials to Condemn Edison Democrat Sam Khan’s Call for “Jihad”

For Immediate Release

East Brunswick, NJ– District 18 Assembly candidate Jeffrey Brown condemned , in the strongest possible terms, Edison Democrat and planning board member Sam Khan’s call for Jihad at a recent event.

“Sam Khan’s anti-Indian rant and recent call for ‘jihad’ at a political rally was disgraceful and wrong.  Calls for ‘jihad’ have no place in today’s political discussion, and Khan’s remarks should be condemned by politicians across the political spectrum, including Assembly members Pinkin and Karabinchak.  I call on the Edison Democrats, Middlesex County Democrats and any other political organization that Khan is a part of, to roundly condemn him, and end any relations they have with him.  Khan should also be immediately removed from the Edison Planning Board.”

Brown went on to call for unity in the face of extremism.

“Today I am calling for members of all faiths to stand in unity against religious extremism and religiously inspired violence.  District 18 residents of all faiths want the same thing for themselves and their families; a safe place to live, a good job and a good education for their kids.  This type of extremism has no place and is not representative of those I am running to represent.”
