Assemblyman-Elect Michael Venezia Hires Jordan Stewart as Chief of Staff

Current Deputy CoS to Asw. Carter, Stewart Brings Significant Legislative and Political Experience to Venezia’s Office

 

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Assemblyman-elect Michael Venezia (D-34) is announcing the hiring of Jordan Stewart as his Chief of Staff. Currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to Assemblywoman Linda S. Carter in the 22nd Legislative District, Stewart brings extensive experience in government, policy, and community engagement to his new role. Stewart will be tasked with helping Assemblyman-elect Venezia hit the ground running and make a positive impact for the people of the 34th District, which includes the Essex County communities of Belleville, Bloomfield, East Orange, Glen Ridge, Nutley, and Orange.

 

“Jordan Stewart will bring a fresh perspective and a proven track record of leadership to our new office as Chief of Staff,” said Assemblyman-elect Venezia. “I am thrilled to have him by my side as we work towards advancing the interests and well-being of the residents in our district.”

 

Demonstrating a multifaceted commitment to community involvement, Stewart holds pivotal roles as the Vice President of the Essex County Young Democrats and Executive Assistant of the New Jersey Young Democrats. His dedication to civic engagement is showcased through his founding of Soul Civics, a nonprofit organization aimed at enlightening students about the importance of active participation in civic affairs. Furthermore, Stewart’s impact extends to the athletic realm, where he serves as a Wide Receivers Coach for the Montclair State University football team.

Assemblyman-elect Venezia was elected in November to represent the 34th District and he currently serves as Mayor of the Township of Bloomfield, where he was first elected in 2013 as the youngest mayor in township history. Prior to that he served as a member of the Township Council and as an aide to the late U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg and Congressman Bill Pascrell. Assemblyman-elect Venezia lives in Bloomfield with his wife and two daughters, and he works as the Director of Human Resources at the Essex County Schools of Technology.
