Assemblyman Peters, Assemblywoman Stanfield praise nominations of Pierre-Louis, O’Brien
TRENTON – Assemblyman Ryan Peters and Assemblywoman Jean Stanfield celebrated Governor Murphy’s recent nominations of Fabiana Pierre-Louis and Mary Ann O’Brien to the New Jersey Supreme Court and a Superior Court Judgeship, respectively.
“Fabiana Pierre-Louis’ career stacks up to any attorney in the state. What she’s been able to accomplish up to this point in her life is extremely impressive. The New Jersey Supreme Court will be lucky to have her” Peters said.
“As far as Mary Ann, there’s not enough good words I can say about her. I served with her on the Burlington County Freeholder Board, and she was consistently committed and always insightful. I’m very happy for her.”
Pierre-Louis would be the first black woman to serve on the state’s top court. Both Pierre-Louis and O’Brien are from Burlington County where Peters and Stanfield’s 8th District is mostly located.
“It’s wonderful to see South Jersey representation and female representation being chosen for these important roles. The nomination of Pierre-Louis is historic and should be celebrated. I’m proud of both of these women who deserve everything they’ve worked so hard for in life,” Stanfield said. “I hope that both are quickly confirmed.”
