(Northfield) Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo and Assemblyman John Armato will be delivering over 500 coats collected in partnership with Jersey Cares to Atlantic City on Thursday, December 20th at 11:00 AM. Community Volunteers will assist the Assemblymen in filling a Jitney with the coats collected during the month long drive to be delivered to the Non-Profit, Friends In Action Inc in Atlantic City.
For the past 22 years, The Jersey Cares Winter Coat Drive has mobilized the collection and distribution of thousands of new and “gently used” winter coats to men, women, children, and infants in need. Last year, Jersey Cares collected more than 30,000 coats throughout the state of New Jersey.
The Office of Assemblyman Mazzeo and Assemblyman Armato partnered with Jersey Cares to make sure local groups and families could donate to help Atlantic County families in need. Donations have been overwhelming from local families, churches, synagogues, schools, and civic organizations. The coats will be distributed to needy families that have been identified by local non-profit, Friends in Action. Local police from Atlantic City, Pleasantville, and Galloway will help bring these donated coats to the needy families.
