Assemblywoman Marlene Caride Joins CSG/ERC’s Education Committee

Assemblywoman Marlene Caride has been appointed to serve on The Council of State Governments’ Eastern Regional Conference’s Education Committee from 2016 through 2017.

“Working with colleagues from across the Northeast provides a unique networking opportunity for me, to share ideas and insights with my counterparts from throughout the Northeast region and bring best practices and resources to my constituents.” Assemblywoman Caride said.

CSG/ERC is a non-profit, non-partisan organization, located in New York City since 1937, serving legislative, executive and judicial branch officials in 11 Northeastern states, as well as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and five Eastern Canadian provinces.

CSG/ERC’s policy staff supports the three branches of state government through nine areas of special concern to the region. These include agriculture, criminal justice, economic development, education, energy and environment, fiscal affairs, health care, transportation, US-Canada relations, and military and veteran’s affairs.

CSG/ERC’s mission is to promote successful state policy innovations, encourage multi-jurisdictional problem solving, advocate for regional interests at the federal level, offer leadership training and technical assistance and forecast policy trends that affect the Northeast.

“In this challenging economic climate, sharing best practices to promote our regional priorities and to advocate at the federal level is critical,” said Caride.
