Atlantic City Fire Department Battles Fire Under Boardwalk at New Jersey Avenue

Atlantic City, N.J. (February 3, 2023) – At approximately 5:40 p.m. this afternoon, Atlantic City Police Department officers spotted flames coming up from under the Boardwalk at New Jersey Avenue and notified the Atlantic City Fire Department. Responding firefighters found debris caught fire under the Boardwalk. Fire crews were able to place the blaze under control at approximately 6:30 p.m. They remained on scene tonight putting out hotspots. One firefighter is being treated for a minor injury. A section of the Boardwalk sustained damage and will need to be replaced.
