Atlantic City, Pleasantville Municipal Courts Merge Commenced on January 1st

Atlantic City, N.J. (January 2, 2023) – Effective as of January 1, 2024, Atlantic City Municipal Court and Pleasantville Municipal Court have merged to become “The Atlantic City Joint Municipal Court.”

“The consolidation marks efforts to enhance municipal court services in both municipalities,” said Atlantic City Joint Municipal Court Director Gina Holmes. “We worked diligently with the Atlantic City Business Administrator’s Office and Solicitor’s Office to make this come to fruition, knowing this will result in savings for our taxpayers.”

Aside from a few adjustments over the next several weeks, Atlantic City residents will see no change to the regular day-to-day Municipal Court operations. Pleasantville residents scheduled for court in Pleasantville will now have to report to Atlantic City.

Due to renovations to the Atlantic City Joint Municipal Court, beginning this Monday, January 8, 2024 until further notice, individuals will have to go to the Pleasantville Municipal Building located at 17 N. 1st Street to make in-person payments. This is expected to last approximately two to three weeks. During this time, in-person payments in Pleasantville can be made during the regular business hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday. Courts will also be closed the next three Fridays – January 5th, 12th and 19th – for renovations.

Questions can be directed to the Atlantic City Joint Municipal Court Office at 609-347-5560.
