Atlantic City Women’s March – January 19, 2019
Iconic City to Host March & Rally Honoring Fannie Lou Hamer

Atlantic City, New Jersey (January 9, 2019) – Atlantic City will be host to a Women’s
March & Rally on January 19, 2019 bringing together a diverse group of women to
participate in the march and empowering speakers for the rally.

Mayor Gilliam stated, “Atlantic City is happy to celebrate and support the upcoming
Women’s March & Rally honoring Fannie Lou Hamer. It was 55 years ago that Fannie Lou
Hamer stood up for justice at the Democratic Party Convention held in Atlantic City. My
administration recognizes all the work that woman perform on a daily basis, not only in
Atlantic City but around the world. I am ecstatic that our iconic City is hosting the march
and I am in full support of the wonderful group of women who have worked tirelessly to
put this march together.”
