ATLANTIC DEMOCRATS HOST SUCCESSFUL 48TH ANNUAL CONVENTION

(GALLOWAY) The Atlantic County Democratic Committee hosted a successful 48th Annual Atlantic County Democratic Convention at the Seaview Resort in Galloway. Over 300 people attended the longest-running continuous nominating convention in New Jersey history.

“Atlantic County Democrats have had the most open and transparent county convention in the state for nearly 50 years, and it’s thanks to five generations of enthusiastic Democrats who’ve helped make our county a better place,” said Atlantic County Democratic Chairman Michael Suleiman. “It’s an honor to preside over a cherished tradition that’s now in its sixth decade.”

The following candidates were endorsed at the Convention:

– LD2 Senate: Pleasantville Councilman Victor Carmona

– LD2 Assembly: County Commissioner Caren Fitzpatrick & Alphonso Harrell

– County Sheriff: Sheriff Eric Scheffler

– County Commissioner at-Large: Kim O’Brien & Habib Rehman

– County Commissioner District 3: Retired EHTPD Captain Hector Tavarez

– County Executive: Peggy Capone

Headshots and brief biographies of the endorsed candidates may be found online here.

“Our fine slate of candidates looks like Atlantic County: racially, ethnically, and geographically diverse,” said Suleiman. “We look forward to continuing our momentum from 2022 and running strong, robust races in 2023. Whether it’s property tax relief, affordable health care for all, or diversifying our regional economy, Democrats are on the right side of the issues.”
