ATU to Endorse Democratic Ticket in LD11

The country’s largest transit union will announce their support for VIn Gopal for Senate and Assemblymembers Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey

Long Branch – On Thursday, Amalgamated Transit Union will publicly endorse Vin Gopal for LD11 Senate, Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling and Assemblywoman Joann Downey for LD11 Assembly.  The ATU which represents 8,000 members in the state, endorses candidates who support safe and reliable mass transit here in New Jersey.

The Gopal, Houghtaling, Downey team announced the endorsement today.

“We are so honored to have the support of ATU,” said Vin Gopal, Democratic candidate for LD11 Senate, on behalf of the LD11 ticket. “The ATU is a vital part of our community here in the district and across the state. Their hardworking members keep us moving forward and support the safe, reliable mass transit that New Jersey relies on. Our team is proud to stand with the ATU and support its work and workforce.”

The announcement will be made at a press event held at the Red Bank Train Station. Candidate Vin Gopal, Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling, and Assemblywoman Joann Downey will be joined by Raymond Greaves, Chairman of the New Jersey ATU Council and local ATU members.
