ATU Local 1614 Ratified a Strong Contract with Lakeland Bus
ATU Local 1614 Ratified a Strong Contract with Lakeland Bus of Dover NJ to advert a strike that would’ve affected thousands of NJ commuters.
The three year agreement delivers wage increases in each year of the contract, additional company contributions to employees 401k plan, enhanced paid time off provisions and more.
Local 1614 President Jamie Young stated, “This contract didn’t come easy and we were ready to walk, fortunately after a union practice picket supported by ATU International President John Costa and all ATU locals throughout NJ two weeks ago, the Company wanted to get back to the table with a Federal Mediator, and that’s how we got this across the finish line.”
ATU International Vice President Ray Greaves, who assisted the local union in negotiations stated, “Thank God we got a deal, nobody wants a strike, especially around the holidays, but the local was prepared and had the assistance of the ATU International if a strike would’ve happened. This deal is a result of the hard work and leadership that the negotiations committee displayed, along with the solidarity of the hard working members of the ATU!”
