WAYNE, N.J. – In partnership with Child Focus and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of New Jersey, Assemblyman Al Barlas hosted a month-long school supply drive at his district office to benefit children and teens living in foster care.

“Back-to-school shopping is a tradition for many students and families, but unfortunately it is not an annual rite that children living in the welfare system have the privilege of experiencing. They deserve that sense of normalcy and our community really stepped up to the plate to ensure these kids are ready for the classroom just like their peers,” Barlas (R-Essex) said. “The success of this school supply drive is a reflection of the caring community that I am honored to represent and the incredible impact of organizations like Child Focus and CASA, which advocate for New Jersey’s children in foster care.”
