Bartlett Congressional Campaign Mobilizes for the Midterms
New Video & Expanded Website Mark Push Towards Victory in 2018

Passaic County Freeholder John Bartlett is building on the momentum of last Tuesday’s decisive Democratic wins in New Jersey with a rollout of a new video and expanded web site, and calling on residents of New Jersey’s 11th District to join his movement to oust longtime incumbent Republican Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen.

“Governor-elect Phil Murphy’s victory in the 11th Congressional District, and the success of 39 down-ballot Democrats from Parsippany to Morris Township to Caldwell and elsewhere, shows the momentum is on our side,” Bartlett said.  “As someone who has run and won tough elections, and beaten a Republican incumbent, I’m ready to carry that momentum forward into next year’s federal midterm election.”

“After listening to voters across the 11th District voice their concerns, and holding more un-scripted public forums in five months than Congressman Frelinghuysen held in five years, I know this: the issues people are concerned about are issues that bridge the partisan divide,” he added.  “A Democratic candidate with a record of results on those issues will defeat Congressman Frelinghuysen in 2018.”

Bartlett, who has helped Passaic County improve its credit rating through smart budgeting and fiscal management, highlights health care, college affordability, transportation improvements, and environmental sustainability as key issues. Bartlett is the first Democratic candidate in the 11th District to discuss his policy priorities on his website.

Additionally, Bartlett has hammered Frelinghuysen for supporting a House GOP tax plan that would raise taxes for New Jersey middle-class residents. In the 11th district alone, some taxpayers would face a tax increase of up to $4,400, or more, to pay the cost of a Republicans give-away to the ultra-wealthy and large corporations.  The GOP tax plan would also raise the deficit and force significant cutbacks to programs that protect and improve New Jerseyans’ quality of life.

Bartlett’s new video, entitled “Leadership Starts With Listening,” launched on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/BartlettCampaign/) and the campaign’s website at https://www.johnbartlett.com/.

“Leadership Starts with Listening” is the first of the series of videos the campaign will release in the coming months.  Bartlett, a voting rights attorney, has also used the platform of his campaign to educate voters about their rights by releasing an informational video and other information during the lead-up to Election Day 2017.
