Bashaw: NJ and America need strong leaders who will stand up to our enemies and protect our freedoms, not capitulate to the radical left

KIM IN CONGRESS:

VOTES NO PROTECTING JEWISH STUDENTS

VOTES NO STOPPING TERRORISTS FROM ENTERING US

Bashaw: NJ and America need strong leaders who will stand up to our enemies and protect our freedoms, not capitulate to the radical left.

Demonstrating a dangerous radical agenda on foreign policy, Congressman Andy Kim departed from the majority of Congress, the New Jersey congressional delegation, and the Democratic Party on two separate bills to crack down on antisemitic terrorist mobs on college campuses and imposing sanctions against terrorists and Iranian hostage takers.

—Andy Kim voted no to the bipartisan “Antisemitism Awareness Act”, HR 6090, which was co-sponsored by 61 members of Congress including NJ Representatives Josh Gottheimer, Tom Kean, and Jeff Van Drew. The bill, which would allow provide for the consideration of a definition of antisemitism set forth by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance for the enforcement of Federal anti-discrimination laws, was in response to Jewish students across the country facing unprecedented acts of violence and antisemitism on college campuses. The legislation passed overwhelmingly by a margin of 321-91, with every NJ member voting in favor except for Reps. Kim and Watson-Coleman.

—Kim also voted against the “No Pay Day for Hostage Takers Act”, HR 5826 — one of only 34 members in Congress to do so and the only member of New Jersey’s congressional delegation to vote No.

According the the bill summary:

This bill allows the President to deny a representative of the United Nations diplomatic entry to the United States if the individual is sanctioned under specified Executive Orders related to terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Currently, the President may deny entry to a United Nations representative if the individual is found to be engaged in specified espionage or terrorist activities directed against the United States or its allies and may pose a threat to security.

Kim is running for the US Senate to replace Senator Bob Menendez, a member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Every New Jerseyan should be concerned about Andy Kim’s radical votes on foreign policy, which demonstrate a willingness to appease our enemies and capitulate to the far left, rather than support our allies — and shockingly, even failing to protect our Jewish students on campus, whose safety is in danger while their civil rights are being violated on a daily basis,” said Curtis Bashaw, leading Republican candidate for U.S. Senate. “On issues from the border to foreign policy and chaos on our college campuses, we need strong leaders who will stand up to terrorists and protect us from those who wish to do America harm. Andy Kim refuses to do that in Congress, departing from the majority of even his Democrat colleagues. He would send an even more dangerous message in the US Senate, appeasing terrorists and our enemies, refusing to stand by our allies, and failing to protect Americans being threatened by a pro-Hamas mob.”
