Be Ready Launches “Dear America” Campaign to Amplify Black Women’s Voices

Be Ready, the first politcal action committee in New Jersey dedicated to increasing the number of Black women in positions of power and advancing a policy agenda focused on Black women, is announcing the launch of the “Dear America” campaign to amplify the voices of Black women and girls across America.

“Pundits across the country got this election wrong because they didn’t listen to our voices,” said Be Ready Executive Director Shennell McCloud. “We are concerned about threats to our bodily freedom, our democracy, voting rights – and more – and as elected officials make decisions, the voices of Black women can no longer be ignored and must be heard.”

Dear America seeks to create a safe space where Black women can voice their desires and be heard via a spoken and letter writing campaign that will amplify the hopes, concerns, and dreams of Black women across America. Black women and girls from all 50 states are invited to submit letters and works of art through the Dear America website at www.bereadynj.org/dear-america.
