Beach Bill to Require National Innovation Economy Marketing Campaign Clears Committee

TRENTON – Legislation sponsored by Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism and Historic Preservation Committee Chair James Beach, which would require the development of a national marketing campaign to promote the state’s innovation economy, cleared the Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism and Historic Preservation Committee today.

“Knowledge, entrepreneurship, innovation, technology and collaboration fuel economic development, which is why we hope to draw these passionate individuals to New Jersey,” said Senator Beach (D-Burlington/Camden). “As we continue to improve the programs we offer for innovators and entrepreneurs it is important we publicize these programs so people in our state and across the country can take advantage of them.”

The bill, S-3194, would direct the Secretary of State to develop a national marketing campaign aimed at promoting the state’s innovation economy in order to attract people, businesses, entrepreneurs and investors from other states.

The marketing campaign would promote employment opportunities through targeted marketing across radio, television, print and online platforms.

The bill was released from committee by a vote of 5-0.
