Bellinger: Paramus Deserves a Debate

Paramus, NJ – In a final attempt to give Paramus voters a chance to watch their two candidates for Mayor defend their positions, policies and records, Councilwoman MariaElena Bellinger takes to a public challenge.

“Chris, will you join me in a debate held by the League of Women Voters for the people of Paramus?” asks Paramus Councilwoman MariaElena Bellinger, running for Mayor of Paramus. “Instead of campaigning on personal attacks, family slights, buzz words or issues that have nothing to do with local politics, join me in answering some relevant questions.”

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization that regularly has hosted debates for other offices on the ticket this year and going back many years prior, is ready and eager to hold a debate forum. To date, there has been no public forum for Paramus residents to hear from either candidate in this year’s Mayoral Race.

“Paramus is my home, the people of Paramus are my life because I am a lifelong Paramus resident. Paramus is where I grew up, where I educate, where I coach, and where I have raised my children. Paramus is my only priority and I am not afraid to talk about the issues people care about,” Bellinger concluded.
