Bergen Bites Back Against Mosquitos!

Tedesco Releases Fish to Combat Mosquito Population

 

What:                  Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco will join the Bergen County Department of Health and the Bergen County Division of Mosquito Control to release a school of fathead minnows, which feed on mosquito larvae.  The release of these fish is an environmentally friendly practice used in tandem with other methods to control the mosquito population and prevent mosquito-borne illness.

Where:               Borg’s Woods Nature Preserve, Allen Street and Fairmount Avenue, Hackensack

When:                 May 18, 2018 at 8:30 am

 

Additional Information:  There will be an opportunity to speak with the County Executive and county employees about the countywide approach to mosquito-borne illness prevention and education.
