NJ’s Largest Health Care Union Represents More than 13,000 Nurses

Hackensack – The Bergen County Democratic Team of County Executive Jim Tedesco and County Commissioners Mary Amoroso, Germaine Ortiz and Tom Sullivan announced today that they have received the endorsement of the Health Professionals and Allied Employees (HPAE). As the largest union of Registered Nurses and health care professionals in New Jersey, HPAE represents more than 13,000 members.

“I am deeply honored to be endorsed by HPAE and humbled to have the backing of the nurses and healthcare professionals who show such exceptional courage and compassion in providing care to their patients and our community,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco. “Throughout Bergen County, we will be forever grateful to our healthcare heroes for all they did for us, under the most challenging circumstances, on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19. As County Executive, I will always support our outstanding nurses and healthcare professionals, and I am proud to be working alongside HPAE to keep Bergen County families safe and healthy.”

“James Tedesco understands that health care workers have sacrificed to provide care for the public in the past few years,” said HPAE President Debbie White, RN.  “He’s also worked hard to ensure that Bergen New Bridge Medical Center remained a viable, healthy institution. We believe the relationship we now have with BNBMC is, in part, due to his efforts.

That is why HPAE, New Jersey’s largest union of healthcare workers, is endorsing James Tedesco for Bergen County Executive and Thomas J. Sullivan, Mary J. Amoroso and Germaine M. Ortiz as Bergen County Board of Commissioners. During these days of unprecedented challenges, we need leaders like these consistently advocating for working people.”
