Bergen County Freeholders and County Executive James J. Tedesco III Recognize Local Hero from Rutherford

HACKENSACK- On Wednesday, March 6, the Board of Chosen Freeholders and the County Executive honored Rutherford Firefighter Tyler Hanson. On December 31st, Hanson noticed smoke coming from a house in Passaic City on his way to work, woke the family up, and got them out.

“Thanks to the actions of Hanson, there were no injuries,” said Freeholder Thomas Sullivan. “His selfless act exemplifies the spirit of Rutherford, and the bravery that firefighters display every day.”

“Tyler Hansen is a hero who represents the best of my fellow volunteer firefighters.” said County Executive James Tedesco. “I applaud the bravery, skill, and character Tyler demonstrated while responding to the fire. We are proud to have him call Bergen County his home. “
