Bergen County Hosts Annual Indian Independence Celebration

(Hackensack) – This afternoon, the County of Bergen hosted its annual celebration in honor of Indian Independence Day in the Piazza at One Bergen County Plaza, recognizing the 71st anniversary of the date when India formally became a democratic nation. The event featured keynote remarks from Raakhee Mirchandani, the Editor-in-Chief of Moneyish, as well as remarks from Glen Rock Councilwoman Arati Kreibich, President of the Kerala Cultural Forum Koshy Kurvilla, and Bergen County Freeholders Tracy Zur and Mary Amoroso. Event guests also enjoyed cultural performances from the Mayura School of Arts, Music Sunita Academy of Music, and Shivi Grewal, as well as donated food from Diamond and Colorstone Cricket Premier League.
